India Trip Photo Diary ๐ŸŒป

Helloooo

I was going to name this post ‘august slipped away into a moment in time’ until I realised this is basically a recap of my trip, not the entirety of the month. The prize for the most unique August recap title would not go to me ๐Ÿ˜‹ or even many other August recap posts I’ve seen, to be honest. But it’s okay, we’re just enjoying folklore and we do get points for that. (speaking of Taylor, who else can’t wait for Midnightttsss!!!!). Then there’s also Louis’ new album coming, ugh fall is gonna be so good.

Anyways so summer is somehow over already and I’m now in in YEAR 12 (grade 11, junior year, whatever you call it) and I’m really not excited for all the work we have this year, but I am excited to hopefully hang out with my friends much much more than I did last year.

August was a pretty fun month and this was the best summer I’ve had since 2019 (because I got to actually leave the house and do things this time ๐Ÿ˜ญ). I hung out with my cousins a lot, bought a bunch of clothes, attempted to journal more and went to India!! Feels like it’s been forever and I really loved the trip, even though I got food poisoning like halfway through ๐Ÿ˜‹ In India we went for a wedding which I was extremely excited for because, I mean, everyone knows that Indian weddings are just iconic.

I’m gonna stop talking now because, if I’m being completely honest, I have no idea what else to say. The pictures are much more fun to look at so I hope you like them ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Not sure if you guys have noticed yet but I very much love random little photo dumps; I have nowhere else for my photos to go soo yep.

I hope you enjoyed this post!! I really do love the photos and I miss summer already.

What did you do this summer? How is school/college going? What is the next thing you’re currently looking forward to?? Let me know in the comments, I love reading them!! ๐Ÿ˜š

Song recommendation of the post: Villain by Maisie Peters. Guys. If you haven’t heard any of Maisie’s songs before, I really need you to go listen now. I only started listening to her at the beginning of summer but one by one I became obsessed with every song off her album (‘You Signed Up For This’) because her melodies and concepts are so perfect and her lyrics are just so well-written and super witty. Ugh I could go on about this for days and I genuinely mean it. So go listen. and then tell me what you think. Now.

The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo

Can we take a moment to appreciate this photo please, I’m very proud of it ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Hellooo

It’s honestly a little embarrassing to come back and casually write a blog post as if I haven’t neglected my blog for a whole month, but I’m going to do exactly that.

For this post I’m talking about a book!! My last book post was probably 3 years ago which is a bit sad but it’s okay because we’re bringing it back. The book in question is ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’. If you like reading you would’ve definitely already heard about it because it’s been quite popular for a while. The book is written from the perspective of a relatively unknown magazine writer named Monique Grant as Evelyn Hugo, a glamorous movie star, gives her the real story of her life for Monique to write. I’m not the best at writing blurbs or summaries but I’d say that’s basically the gist of it.

I really enjoyed reading this book and it got me out of a reading slump that I had been in for a while. I literally had the book for three months before I finally decided to start it and I’m now very embarassed by that fact.
Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and had a strong emotional connection to it for a few days after I was done reading it. I think that goes to show how engaging the story was. Like, you know how somet imes you’ll read a book and the plot was good but there’s just something about maybe the characters or the writing that makes you feel less connected to the book? This is definitely not one of those.

There are so many aspects that made me love this book as much as I do, but especially three main ones.

The first point (and the most obvious one, why am I even saying this) is the storyline itself. I know, who would have guessed. I felt like the story had a good pace so even while there wasn’t much going on, you still didn’t feel bored or uninterested. I was constantly addicted to knowing what would happen next and would rate that a 10/10 experience.

The second point is the characters. I really love how the author created the characters because they aren’t just basic, predictable people. Everyone has multiple dimensions with both good sides and flawed sides to themselves and it was portrayed so well in a way that makes them so human and real. Especially the protagonist, Evelyn Hugo. You can see the way her character starts off as a naive teenager who starts making her own choices and goes on to do some smart and some questionable things. She had some flawed logic in parts of the story but I really love how she accepts and grows from her experiences.

Aaand finally, the writing. I absolutely adored the writing in this book, so much so that I had to buy my own physical copy of it (originally I had borrowed the book from my friend) instead of getting a kindle version as I usually do, just so that I could highlight and write little comments on my favourite quotes. There are so many sweet and sad quotes that stab you and then twist the knife, and so many kind of “wise” words of advice from Evelyn that I actually really loved.

So yep, overall I loved this book so much and honestly will probably re-read it after I’m done with ‘A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’ (which I’m also quite enjoying).

Talk to me in the comments about anything book related! I really need new recommendations so if you have any then I would be very grateful for some lol.

Love, Hreemy

I Went To A Louis Tomlinson Concert!

hellooooo

I know the title already told you but I’m still so happy so I will say it again:

I GOT TO SEE LOUIS TOMLINSON LIVE!!

He was meant to come in 2020 but then obviously that got rescheduled and then cancelled which was a little heartbreaking. The announcement came on the 10th of May and I saw it when I came home from my English exam so it was a nice little reward kind of thing. I literally jumped around my room for a good ten seconds which doesn’t sound like a lot but it is. I’m not a very athletic person.

Anyways, let’s talk about the actual concert. First there was an opening act, his name is Greg Pearson. His set was short but he has an amazing voice so check out his music as well if you like artists like Lewis Capaldi or James Arthur. I feel like the vibes are similar.

Louis finally came on stage at 8:30 and entered with ‘We Made It’ as his opening song. I have to admit, before the concert I was a bit skeptical about whether that was really the best choice to open the show but once he started I was like okay yes this is perfect.

He performed an unreleased song called Change which I already listened to a few times and liked but it’s honestly a million times better live. I can’t wait to hear it on his next album.
He ALSO performed three One Direction songs which was a very fulfilling experience. First was Drag Me Down which everyone screamed the loudest, then Little Black Dress which was just so fun to dance and jump around to, and then finally Through The Dark!! Through The Dark is one of my mom and I’s favourite songs from 1D so we were insanely happy to hear it.

Overall the concert was just everything I wanted and I am SO GRATEFUL.

Here are some pictures because, as usual, they’re the best part ๐Ÿ˜š

I hope you enjoyed the post!! Talk to me in the commentsss. How is summer going for you so far? If you listen to Louis Tomlinson, what songs of his are your favourites? Have you ever been to a concert??

Song rec. of the post: Defenceless by Louis Tomlinson. I first listened to Defenceless only because of the fan project that made it start trending I think last year? But yes, now it’s probably my favourite song off the album because I just love honest and vulnerable lyrics and this song is full of them. Hearing it live was a dream ๐Ÿ˜ญ 100% recommend you to go listen to it and let me know what you think โค

Prom & Graduation ๐ŸŽ“

Helllloooo

Happy June and happy pride month!! ๐ŸŒˆ

May was quite a chaotic month honestly we went straight from our final MYP exams (I know I’ve talked about them enough, I’ll stop after this post) to graduation and prom. I’m not complaining though, I somehow thoroughly enjoyed May; it’s probably my favourite month of 2022 so far. Because like we had so many mock exams that by the time we got to finals I was much less nervous and stressed than I was during any mock that we did before. I was just super excited to get them over with and I finally did ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Anyways. On the 25th of May we had our MYP graduation (the IB middle years program) so that was fun. I was quite excited to dress up a bit and also to finally see people in my year without their masks ๐Ÿ˜ญ Then like 3 days later was Prom!!! My dress gave me and my friends very much Evelyn Hugo vibes so you’ll see that in the pictures. Simmy, Netra and I all got ready together, took pictures, and ate at Simmy’s house and then danced for a few hours in heels and slightly uncomfortable dresses.

Finally here are the pictures because let’s be honest, they’re the most important part (first three pics are grad and the rest are prom).

(if you’re reading this post on email the picture formatting will be a bit off!! it’s better on the website lol)

I hope you liked the pictures!!! I definitely did ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Talk to me in the comments about your month!! How was May?? What were the highlights and the worst parts (lowlights? idk)?! What are you looking forward to this month? ๐Ÿ˜š

Song recommendation of the post: Colours of You by Baby Queen.
I heard this song because of Heartstopper (like most people I’m pretty sure) and loved it almost immediately. I’m very much a lyrics girl and the lyrics of this song are just so pretty, I’m in love. Listen to the song and let me know what you think!!

So much love,

Hreemy xx

Harry’s House: Another Album Review

me too simmy

Hellooo

Before I start ANYTHING I just wanna let you guys know that my best friend Simran created her own blog and you should go check it outtt!! If you like fashion, music, reading (especially reading) and are a teenager I know youโ€™ll love her so go give Simmyโ€™s Little Life a read, comment and follow ๐Ÿฅฐ merci

Harry finally decided to release his third album!! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Harry’s House released on the 20th of May and I listened to it with my mom in the kitchen before I did my last exam in the hopes that it would improve my vibes. It kind of did not because some of the songs were a little sad (looking at Matilda and Little Freak right now) but mainly because I wasn’t a huge fan of the album after the first listen ๐Ÿ˜ญ

It’s okay though that happens with albums sometimes. I listened to it a few more times later and I now LOVE the album, there isn’t a single song on it that I wouldn’t wanna listen to. I also feel like some of the songs give me One Direction vibes or have parallels with One Direction songs which is cute. The only thing that I don’t love is that there weren’t any lyrics that really stuck out to me ๐Ÿ˜” This could just be me but I feel like almost all of the lyrics are pretty average or just so cryptic to the point where you’re like did he even have a meaning in mind while writing this because I have no clue what he’s trying to say.

Opinions โœจ:

  • The intro of ‘Music For A Sushi Restaurant’ sounds like the singing fish from The Lorax and I just find that hilarious. I wasn’t a fan of the song at first but it’s a vibe now.
  • I really loved ‘Late Night Talking’ when he performed it at Coachella and I love the studio version even more. It’s just such a fun song to dance around to.
  • The chorus of ‘Grapejuice’ sounds like ‘Gotta Be You’ by 1D. Someone had to say it.
  • As It Was is the first ever lead single that is one of my favourites from the album. Like usually lead singles get annoying or boring but I rank AIW in my top 3 of Harry’s House.
  • Daylight isn’t really one of my favourites but I do enjoy listening to it still.
  • I absolutely LOVE Little Freak. Not really sure why that’s what he decided to name the song because the vibe is completely different. I’m so obsessed with the chorus I literally can’t stop listening to it ๐Ÿ˜ญ
  • Matilda is quite sad โ˜น๏ธ One of the lyrics gave me slight chills when I first listened to it but I can’t remember which so that’s annoying, really love the song though.
  • I don’t know what Harry was thinking putting Cinema right after Matilda because that transition gave me major whiplash. While I have no idea what he’s trying to say with this song (after reading some of the theories I think it’s better to be oblivious), it’s one of my favourites on the album and I really like this different vibe he’s going with.
  • Daydreaming and Keep Driving feel slightly similar to me and I have no idea why. But I think they’re both great songs to listen to while driving next to a beach in the summer because they have that chill and playful summery feel.
  • Satellite was up there with Little Freak for the first few days and I just continuously listened to those two songs back to back. The bridge is my favourite part of the song, it’s just so addictive (and sounds very One Direction-y)
  • Now for the only skip on the album: Boyfriends. I’m sorry but I’ve listened to this song once and once was enough. It’s just kinda boring and doesn’t stand out ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ I’m sorry to anyone who likes this song but I am not one of you.
  • And finallyyyyy, Love Of My Life. Many parts of this song sound super Joshua Bassett-y to me (especially the “it’s unfortunate, just coordinates” part) which I find interesting lol. I love the piano part at the end of the song, it’s one of my favourite album enders.

I decided to bring back my song ranking thing because it’s much easier with new albums so here it is for now (from favourite to least favourite):

Little Freak
As It Was
Satellite
Late Night Talking
Cinema
Matilda
Love Of My Life
Music For a Sushi Restaurant
Daydreaming
Grapejuice
Daylight
Boyfriends

Hope you liked my mini review and feel inspired to go listen to the album because it’s quite a feel-good album in my opinion ๐Ÿ˜Œ.
Have you listened to Harry’s House yet? What are your favourites at the moment? What are your least favourites?? Talk to me in the comments!

Take Care of Your Mental Health <3

Hello!!

How are you??

I finish my finals this week ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Can’t wait to not study for a while and then for prom and (myp) graduation!!! So much to look forward to.

Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, I wanted to write a related blog post, just like last year (for anyone who remembers that one lol).

Anywayss taking care and being mindful of your mental health is a pretty important thing. It’s still a topic that people are scared to talk about in case it’s something you’re like meant to keep to yourself. Well spoiler alert: you don’t have to keep it to yourself.

Honestly, everybody you know has their own thing that they’re dealing with, so remember that you are not alone and there’s nothing wrong with you. I’ve found it’s really nice to talk to someone you love and trust when you’re not feeling your best because we tend to overcomplicate stuff in our head and that outside perspective can be super helpful. It’s okay to reach out for help when you need it!!

As always I recommend journaling if you need a place to get your thoughts out without judgement or to try and get a better understanding of what you’re actually feeling. I like to journal when I notice that I’m avoiding my thoughts because it forces me to think about what I’m feeling and although it doesn’t fix the problem it really makes it feel a lot less scary than it did before.

So like I said earlier, everyone has their bad moments, worries and insecurities. For example I know I tend to compare myself to other people I know a lot and put too much pressure on myself. Currently trying to work on that โ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ

The pictures I’ve put in this post do a better job at talking about mental health than I do but please remember to take care of yourself and go easy on yourself and rest when you need it because resting is GREAT and actually an excellent use of time.

I love you so so much, thanks for reading this post!!

Hreemy xx

(my friend agrees with this and I trust her sooooo you should too:)
yes yess!!! always!!

My Picnic Guide ๐Ÿ’

hellooo guyss what’s up?

Earlier this month my friends and I went on a little picnic and honestly it was extremely fun, 10/10 recommend it.

Since it is quite nice picnic weather at the moment (at least in the evenings) I decided to write a mini picnic guide with dos and don’ts that we learnt from our experience. Some of the tips are a tiny bit obvious but in our defence, we didn’t really think it through ๐Ÿ˜Œ.

Anyways yes follow our tried and tested guide to a nice picnic with contributions from Simmy, Netra and Misha:

  • Bring lemonade and pizza
  • Don’t forget your plates, cutley and hand sanitizer (we learned this the hard way)
  • It’s better to get a little too much food than a little too less
  • Don’t sit on a slope (hurts your butt and back๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ)
  • Get tissues with you
  • Music and Bluetooth speakerssss + a playlist made in advance so you don’t have to keep picking the next song
  • Maybe don’t have your picnic in a place where dog walkers all meet up and leave their dogs off leash so dogs don’t try to eat your donuts
  • Bring trash bag for the trash and gloves so you dont have to touch the trash cause coakroaches ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคข (Simmy’s contribution and YEAH WE REALISED THAT AT THE END TINY COCKROACHES CAME ON OUR MAT)
  • Pack blankets because it gets a little cold
  • Don’t wear socks if you’re in a grassy area and plan to take off your shoes

so yep those were the main points of wisdom that I had to share.

Afterwards when it got dark we lay down (that sounds like incorrect English but apparently it’s right) on the grass and looked at the stars which was so cute. I didn’t expect to see any stars but it was very pretty I loved it. So I recommend doing a little stargazing on your picnic as well โ˜บ๏ธ

THE STARSSSSSSS ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I hope this post inspired you to go on a picnic because pleaseee you won’t regret it. Spend some time in nature hehe.

Song recommendation of the post: Don’t Let It Break Your Heart by Louis Tomlinson has somehow crept its way back into my favourite songs so I hope it creeps its way into yours as well (he should totally hire me I would promote his music so well). I love the song and the message of it so much it can be quite motivational or comforting or whatever at times. Let me know what you think!

Chat with me in the comments about whatever! Do you go on picnics often? How’s the weather becoming where you live??

Love,

Hreemy xx

Autumn-Winter Photo Dump ๐Ÿ“ท

hello beautiful peopleeee!!

how are you? what’s up?

wow another post in less than a month? I’m like a whole new person.

I’m really not ๐Ÿ˜” I just love photo dumps so I took the opportunity of spring starting to do a little autumn to winter photo dump and life update.

At the moment I’m on my second week of spring break and studying once again for my second set of mocks (why do we need two ๐Ÿ˜ญ) and my economics and business finals. It hasn’t registered in my brain yet, it’s only gonna register as I’m halfway through my third exam. oh welllll wish me luck!

okay now let me do some bullet point life events that will sometimes (like 99% of the time) correspond with the pictures in my dump. enjoyyy ๐Ÿ˜š

  • Met my best friend Noelle when she visited from Switzerland in Jan
  • Hung out with friends a bunch of times which was very fun and also with my cousins when they came back from uni for winter break!
  • Enjoyed the masterpiece that is Red (Taylor’s Version) and spent a week or two writing the masterpiece that is Red (Hreem’s Version)
  • Developed an addiction to hot chocolate (especially Starbucks’ hot chocolate for some reason, I think they put something in that)
  • Went to Expo 2020 for three days on a school trip and it was a little too sunny but still so much fun I got like 26 stamps โ˜บ๏ธ
  • This didn’t happen to me but my friend Misha nearly burnt down her house (exaggeration but not really) while trying to make chocolate covered strawberries for our friend who had covid and me who nearly got covid and was therefore isolating. Chaotic. I just added that to give some context for one of the last few pictures.
  • Met Celia (the girl in the third picture) and became besties and sang+wrote songs together
  • Celebrated Valentines day with my friends with lots of chocolate and heart-shaped balloons
  • My mom got me and my brother very cute Valentines donuts ๐Ÿ˜ญโค๏ธ
  • Had a little holi party with some of my friends which was the most fun thing EVER (took me forever to get the pink colour out of my scalp and nails but honestly worth it)
  • Adopted a stuffed penguin with Simmy (he’s our baby and his name is Louis)
  • Got our MYP graduation photos taken (a very momentous occasion dude years 7-11 were a rollercoaster and I’m not even done with year 11 yet)
  • Went on a very cute picnic with Simmy, Misha and Netra

I didn’t realise how much happened in the last few months until I listed everything and then cut a lot of it out because… it got a bit much.

But I hope you enjoyed this post because I absolutely loved writing it and collecting the pictures. Photo dumps will forever be my favourite posts to read and make.

What interesting stuff has happened in your life lately? What are you looking forward to? What did you think of Harry’s new song???

Chat with me in the comments about literally anything I love talking to youuuuuu!!

Song recommendation of the post: AS IT WAS BY HARRY STYLESSS. Can’t believe he’s back. Took forever but I’ll forgive him I guess ๐Ÿ™„ I love As It Was so so so much honestly the melody the lyrics the everything. I’m so excited for this new era and his album!!!!! Listen to the song if you haven’t heard it already (if you haven’t heard it yet, where have you been) and tell me if you love it, or even if you don’t.

Lots of love,

Hreemy xx

Things My Friends Do That I Like :)

Hello everybodyyyy

How are you doinggg? Hope you had a Happy Holi if you celebrate (I did celebrate, it was so much fun. Except my scalp is still pink but oh well)

Ages ago one of my friends did this cute thing where she wrote down ‘things her friends do that she likes’ and I thought it was very sweet so here is me doing it on my blog for a few of my best friends.

Noelle

  • calls people by cute nicknames (e.g. lovie)
  • what a feeling by one direction is literally our song
  • can talk to her about anything and she gives great advice
  • her taste in music is so versatile
  • always makes me laugh even over text

Netra

  • loves analysing and really understanding people
  • super observant, she notices like the tiniest things
  • practically adopted this cat that keeps visiting her house
  • eats anything and everything (also smarties that have fallen on the floor)
  • does whatever she wants/ makes her happy

Simran

  • sends us a picture every time she gets her nails done
  • always giving hugs and playing with your hair
  • does her eyeliner so nicely
  • has a necklace she made with the name of her favourite book character (idk where it’s gone but she wore it for a long time)
  • is always so herself

Misha

  • gets so excited whenever she sees a dog and shows pictures of her dog at every opportunity
  • her laugh is a very cute giggle
  • always calls me hreemy
  • gives the best motivational speeches
  • her perfume is really strong I always smell it on my clothes after hugging her ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Yana

  • can easily become friends with anybody ever
  • if she ever puts on nail polish it ends up taking an hour and then she takes it off and tells me about it afterwards
  • makes the most unique acronyms while we study for business and biology
  • acts and looks like the main character in school
  • her spontaneity and ability to do anything at any time

Varshitaa

  • makes new little chains for her phone case like every two weeks
  • is now besties with our math teacher and they talk about mani pedis
  • wears double masks ๐Ÿ˜ญ (because her mom told her to but still)
  • we attempt to have full conversations in French for no reason
  • once wrote me a 10-point list of reasons why she is โ€œa material gworlโ€

Aaand that’s the post.

I hope you liked it! Took SO much time not gonna lie it’s hard to come up with stuff on the spot but I like the end result lol.

Comment stuff about your friends, family or even yourself (self love guys) that you like or just chat because I always love your comments ๐Ÿ˜Š Ooh which one of my friends do you think you relate to most or find the most interesting??

Song recommendation of the post: ICU by Phoebe Bridgers is my FAVOURITE song of hers and maybe one of my favourite songs of all time, it’s just that good. I love love love the feeling of the song and the production and the way it builds up then calms down then builds up then calms down then explodes with that amazing guitar and whatever amazing chord she decided to add into the song ๐Ÿ˜ซ Also the lyrics. I mean “if you’re a work of art I’m standing too close I can see the brushstrokes”??? Insanity!!! In conclusion, listen to the song because I’m IN LOVE with it.

Love, Hreemy xx
