How to Make the Most of Autumn: a guide

hey guysss!

Today’s my birthday!!!

That is super unrelated to the post but I think everyone should be able to annoyingly remind people that it’s their birthday because it’s very fun and your birthday only comes once a year so why waste it?

I am now ✨fifteen✨ which doesn’t actually have any perks that make it very exciting but saying your fifteen when someone asks how old you are definitely sounds much cooler than 14 so I’ll take it.

Soooo now that it’s the very lovely season of autumn and life gets very cozy and comforting whether you like it or not, I decided to make a post about like how to be as autumn-y as possible because who doesn’t love being extra?
Actually a lot of people don’t but I’m going to hope you do.

Sweater Weather

Yes. It’s time to pull out all of your hoodies and sweaters and thick knitted stuff woohoo. I mean I wear stuff with long-sleeves basically all year round because…idk it’s comfy? But now you’ve got that perfect combination of cool and warm weather so the hoodie will be comfy but not too hot.

Make Your Room Cozy

This is totally unique to each person but basically cozify your room (that isn’t a word but we can act like it is). Literally do whatever feels comforting and make sure to have a bunch of blankets and cushions around that are super snuggly. Ooh ooh hang up those warm yellow-ish fairy lights above your bed or desk or something, that’s sooo nicceeeee.

Stock Up on Candles

Light some cinnamon or apple or … whatever you want candles so you have a cool vibe in the air. Why on Earth did I say vibe lol it’s so out of context compared to the rest of the post. Anyways, you’ll know you’ve succeeded once your room smells like bath & body works 👍🏼

Get Into the Halloween Spirit

What screams autumn more than halloween? Yeah, nothing, I thought so. Although I have no clue if halloween will even be a thing this year (😭) you can binge watch a bunch of halloween movies on netflix. You could also always just buy a bunch of chocolate or candy for yourself. I mean, it’s not illegal so why not?

Listen to Autumn-y Music

Dude I know that I used to have like a whole autumn related songs playlist but right now I can’t even think of a single one. Maybe songs that are like optimistic and sweet and kind of soft, they set the mood pretty well. A lot of people seem to classify Red as a fall album so go for that if you’d like.

Drink a Ton of Hot Chocolate

I credit my friend Maia for this point because she sent our gc a picture of her hot chocolate and I was like YES THAT’S AN AUTUMN THING. So yes, be really fancy just cause you can and find really over the top hot chocolate recipes on pinterest and enjoy it while looking out a window at sunset. You’ll feel really dramatic, trust me.

aaaand that’s basically all the stuff I do! Please comment your ways to ✨autumnify✨ your life or just about anything because your comments make my day.
I should really stop making up words, they don’t even sound real.

Have a great day I love you!

Love, Hreem xx

My Favourite Things Tag

my favourite things tag

hey guys!

I hope you’re all happy and doing well!

I’m so sorry I didn’t post in over a month but school started and stuff so I got busy and then I was so sure that I posted something but then checked back to realise that I didn’t so that really was disappointing.

Anywayyyss, about a month ago the super amazing Jasmin kinda tagged me to do the ‘my favourite things tag’ and it’s pretty cool so I’m excited ☺️

Rules:

Thank and link back to the person’s blog who tagged you!
Thank you so much Jasmin for tagging me! Tags are always super fun to read so I’m happy I get to do one.

Thank and link back to the person’s blog who started the tag!
Thank you to Beth for creating this very cute tag! It’s such a cool idea

Write about eight of your favorite things in your post!

Add at least 2 pictures or gifs in your post that is related to your favorite things.

Tag eight people at least! (If you don’t know eight blogs to tag just tag as many as you can)

Put the eight rules in your blog post!

Include the picture above for the beginning of your post!

Have fun!!!

*disclaimer: most of these pictures do not belong to me*

1. Music

music

I think by now basically everyone knows that I love music with my whole heartttt 💖 . Listening to music, playing it, making it, all of it is just so magical ahh. It is one of the most amazing things ever and you can go ahead and fight me on that heh.

2. Friends and Family

Hanging out and talking  to family and friends is so much fun too. The best thing is when you all laugh so hard that you can’t breathe or talk and anything anyone does just makes it more funny. Even when we started online school, me and my friends have zoomed many times and literally even watched a movie together on video call. It took ages to set up but it was fun anyways sooo.

3. Autumn

autumn

It’s nearly autumnnnnn ahhhhhh. Apparently autumn *officially* starts on September 22 this year so that’s on Tuesday yay. It’s in my opinion the best season because it’s so cosy and not too hot but not too cold. I’m probably going to write a whole post about autumn soon so be ready for that.

4. Pretty Things

pretty things

This is the weirdest thing on my list because it really makes no sense. I just love like pretty necklaces, places, people, dresses??? You deserve a round of applause if you understand me because I made no effort to explain it.

5. Taking Photos

I always take a bunch of pictures and videos when I’m with my friends or family and then they’re like “Hreem stop taking so many pictures”. But then the same people beg me to send all the stuff to them a couple months later. Really love that. I also have a really cool polaroid camera (not the instax ones, the polaroid originals ones that are bigger and look kinda similar to the old cameras) and it’s such a rush taking one of those and then waiting for it to develop. It’s just been lying around for the past 6 months because of the lack of cool things happening 😦

6. Baking & Cooking

Me and my mom always bake stuff like cupcakes and cookies and stuff which do turn out weird sometimes but majority of the time they’re so goood. I also like to cook and help my mom make stuff but I’m not as skilled at it so I do it a bit less. Basically anything involving food is perfect.

7. Flowers

flowers

Flowers are so pretttyyyy. So I guess this should technically count as pretty things but I wanted to make a different point for it because like … flowers dude. We don’t actually have a wide range of flowers growing wehre I live because it’s way too hot so I have to settle for pictures of flowers instead. It’s ok, pinterest is close enough.

and finally…

8. Reading & Writing

reading
readingonastar.wordpress.com

I’ve always loved reading stuff like books and poems but right now I don’t really have any new books to read which sucks. Comment any suggestions if you have! I also love writing things like my journal and (you’d never guess this) my blog! My three year blog-iversary is in like two months, wow.

So those are a few of my favourite things!
I hope you sang that to the tune of the song in your head. If not, what are you even doing? This was actually super fun so thank you Jasminnn!

I don’t think I can nominate 8 people to do this but I’ll see how many I can haha:

Aaand that’s all for today.

I really hope you enjoyed my post almost as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Comment what some of your favourite things are and what things we have in common, it makes me so happy 😊

Love, Hreem xx

(p.s. It’d be awesome if you could check out my covers )

What I Got For My 13th Bday

IMG_7556I know, I know.

This is one of the most cliche posts and is long overdue.

Buuut, in my defence, some people gave me my gifts this week because they didn’t deliver or for other personal reasons. JUST SAYING: I didn’t write this post to brag or show off, I just enjoy reading other people’s posts/watching videos about this as it gives me some great gift ideas! Also, it’s just really fun.

Here are a few things I picked out! (I gave everyone credit because I knew they would ask for it)

  • Porcelain Rose beats from my mom (which are sooooo goooood)
  • A little set of baby blue makeup brushes from Sakshi that are super soft
  • A Cropped ‘Friends’ hoodie from Milla (!!!)
  • A black and white striped romper from Maya & Mia that I really love ♥
  • Bright and pastel Tombow brush pens from my little brother
  • A loveeely Pandora gift card from my aunt
  • A cute little Superman Phoebe Funko (also from ‘Friends’) from Yana
  • The cutest little denim top which me and Yana bought together
  • A few little goodies from Icing from another one of my aunts
  • A Wreck This Journal from my cousin
  • and a few more little things that I don’t want to bore you with

Another thanks to everyone that wished me and gave me these gifts because I had an amazing 13th birthday!

Embracing Hygge

Screen Shot 2018-01-29 at 7.00.06 PM.png

Hygge? What the heck is that?! English, please!

Yes, I know, that is probably what most of you are thinking while reading this. Or, some of you may already know what ‘hygge’ is, if you do, you might want to skip the explanation and go straight to the post↓

For those of you who don’t know what hygge is, let me tell you:

Hygge ( pronounced hue-gah ) is a Danish word. It doesn’t translate into one word but means “cozy” or “special”, basically to enjoy life’s pleasures. You may not have heard it but you’ve definitely experienced it, everyone has. Cool right! This is one interesting thing that the Danish people have invented (aside from their pastries of course♥️).

I may be a bit late for this because winter is actually the season of coziness but it’s still winter so… here are some ways to channel them hygge vibes…

Comfy Clothes

I’m sure we all have this one pair of clothes that we’d never wear outside even though they’re suuuuuper comfortable; time to get those clothes out now!

Dim Lighting

No-one really wants that much light in this season, it’s more of a calm light. For this, I always use fairy lights because they are just the coziest feeling thing EVER! Just put up a few fairy lights on the sofa or around your bed and you’re all set.

Light ‘Dem Candles

Scented candles are basically the best because you get warm-toned light and the awesome smells.

Hot Chocolate

This is a personal preference thing but I feel like hot chocolate is the most wintery food or drink out there. Also, it’s really warm and delicious!

Read a Book

As you have learnt in school, reading is great for your mind – not including reading twitter, Instagram, Facebook or any other kind of social media – and it is really great when you find the perfect book. So I think you should probably go scavenge for your perfect book now.

Put That Phone DOWN

One thing that all of us do is check our phones for any life updates; your life is here, enjoy the present and not just the phone screen.

Have a Warm Bath

Ooooohhh LUSH! Yes, this is defo the best time to pull out my huge basket of Lush bath bombs (heaven). I recently used the Lava Lamp bath bomb and it smells amazing. Expect quite a few reviews (;

Wrap Up Like a Burrito

Now the only thing that could possibly make this better is to snuggle up in a-million-and-one blankets while doing all of the above; good luck with that!

How else do you like to wind down?
