Does the Ph of Your Cleanser Affect Your Skin?

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

hey everyone!

I am a person who really loves buying tons of face masks and different skincare products even if they don’t actually have an impact on my skin (oops)

So recently I found out a little about how the Ph of your face wash is actually really important and can have a major impact so I wanted to share the information with you guys!

Basically the Ph of your skin (Potential hydrogen. The acidity or alkalinity of your skin) is somewhere between 4.0-6.5. Your skin has an acid mantle which is acidic so that it can act as a barrier to keep away bacteria, viruses, dirt and other things which can penetrate the skin. The Ph of your skin can be altered by weather, UV light, the products and even the water you use.

Using this products on your skin can disturb it’s Ph, making it too acidic or basic, which causes more breakouts, makes skin more sensitive and creates a good environment for infections. Using these a few times only temporarily changes the skins Ph and it can still recover however using these products more often can cause long-term damage to your skin.

Most soaps and some cleansers have a Ph of about 9-10 and that is really bad for your skin. *that is one reason why you shouldn’t wash your face with shower gel or anything like that.

Sooo how can you be sure that your cleanser has the right Ph? Most cleansers would say ‘balanced Ph’ on the packaging or might have the Ph written sOmEwHeRe on the bottle. For example after I learnt this I did some research about the cleanser I was using at the time and realised that it had a Ph of 7! I immediately threw it out and found another one.

Okay guys that was kind of a long one but I hope this helped you even a little bit 🙂

New Skincare Products I’m Loving

hey everyone!

The weather in Dubai is sooo unpredictable! Like, one second it’s nice and sunny and then the next it’s randomly windy, dusty and a LOT of rain. 5 minutes later it’s normal and sunny again. What?! MAKE UP YOUR MIND. Stay rainy plss, I know other countries are hoping for sun but I want the opposite Oops.

Not-so-recently I found a new skincare brand I really love. The products only use natural ingredients so there shouldn’t be any chemicals that affect the skin. I’m quite sure this brand is only available in India but I think if you order it, it can probably be shipped to wherever (woop).

I bought 3 products and they are: The Sugared Rose Petal Lip Balm,  Eladi Teenage Day Cream and Hasayan Facial Tonic Mist Rosewater. I didn’t buy a cleanser because I already have one from The Face Shop.

Starting off with the lip balm, I love this lip balm SO MUCH! It smells like a rose, it’s super light, moisturizing and also the packaging is beautiful. The only thing I wish is that it would be bigger! Whenever I have chapped lips this lipbalm is the perfect remedy, totally reccommend it 🙂

Next is the Eladi Teenage Day Cream. Now, I’m not completely sure what eladi actually is. I mean, I tried to do a little bit of research but I don’t really get it! The cream is made specifically for teens (as you can probably tell) and it has SPF 30. It is designed to regulate sebum production, balance and hydrate it, while protecting it from environmental damage. I can’t exactly tell if this works or not because I need to be using it for quite some time to figure that out, but I do think it’s not very harsh on the skin.

Finally, the Hasayan Facial Tonic Mist Rosewater. I bought a small size in a spray bottle just to test it out and see if I like it. The mist is so refreshing and soothing and also smells quite good. AL the scents are quite flowery because flowers are (usually) the main ingredient. I know that rose water is supposed to be good for your skin, which is why I got this.

Hope you enjoyed this post and are inspired to maybe get something for yourself.

What skincare brands or products do you reccommend?

Lush Haul!

Lush Haul

I recently stopped by Lush to just check out some of their new products for the Christmas range and restricted myself to just buying four things; no matter how hard I wanted to buy more.

I bought two from the Christmas range and two of their normal products:

  • ‘Shoot For The Stars’ bath bomb
  • ‘Snow Fairy’ fun soap
  • ‘Sugar Daddy-O’ hair conditioner
  • ‘Juicy’ shampoo

Shoot For The Stars

‘Honey-scented sparkles of Brazilian orange and bergamot waltz with swirling, golden stars, creating a world of cobalt colour. As the calming blanket of shimmering, midnight blue unfolds, Brazilian orange and bergamot oils combine to send your mood rocketing up to the stars.’ I haven’t actually tried this one out yet but the description and the scent are sooooo fabulous.

Snow Fairy

‘This colourful, candyfloss-scented fun is a little bit magical. Handmake your own festive fairy in soft pink and set her at the top of the tap so she can cast a spell over bathtime. Crumble a little under running water for streams of spellbinding, candy-coated bubbles which turn the water into a wonderland of sweetness, or lather up in your hands for a sugary sweet body wash.’ I think that Snow Fairy is not a very popular scent because some people find it too sweet, but I think it’s a really great smell and I haven’t smelled any other Lush product that smells similar.

I Love Juicy

Packed with fresh fruit to deeply cleanse and clarify hair. This is a fruit cocktail for the hair to cleanse and refresh it, softening seaweed to leave your locks super-shiny once they’re extra-clean. Freshly juiced pineapples, kiwi, mango and papaya are full of enzymes that help break down excess sebum (oil) on the scalp, leaving hair looking and feeling fresh and clean.’ This shampoo is really good because it actually does everything it says in the description and leaves your hair smelling really good.

Sugar Daddy-O

‘With richness beyond compare and a fondness for blondes, Sugar Daddy-O is one to watch. Lighter shades will remain classy, not brassy after a few strokes with this pretty purple solid conditioner. It’s full of luscious linseed infusion and argan oil to nourish. A floral bouquet of violet leaf absoluterose and bergamot creates an intoxicating fragrance that will last on hair all day. Work the bar between the hands before applying a small amount into wet hair; a little goes a long way.’ This conditioner is pretty cool because it’s a bar and is super massaging when you rub it into your hair, it’s really good.

Peppermint Flavoured Lip Scrub

Blogmas 6

Yesterday I was sucking on a candy cane (in class) while Milla and I were discussing some things that would be cool if they were peppermint. Lollipops, bubblegum, ice-cream, tiny peppermint earrings (how cute would that be tho!).

Soon I came to peppermint lip scrub, and an alarm started ringing in my brain, BLOGPOSTIDEA BLOGPOSTIDEA BLOGPOSTIDEA. Even if you don’t have peppermint extract, you’re still probably going to be able to do this.

You Will Need:

  • Brown sugar
  • honey
  • candy canes
  • food colouring (optional)

  1. Take 2 teaspoons of sugar and place them in a bowl.
  2. Next, keep adding honey until you get a right, slightly gloopy consistency.
  3. Crush a small piece of your candy cane and add it to the mixture.
  4. Now, if you’re adding food colouring, it’s time to mix it in until you get your desired shade.
  5. Finally, put your lip scrub into a container and use it whenever your lips are dry!

If you could have any flavour lip scrub, what flavour would you pick?

Happy BEAUTYday To You!

Hey People😊

It was recently my birthday on the 5th (just about a few days ago) and obviously, I got quite a few presents since I had a party. I thought you guys might like to hear about it or get some ideas for a friend, cousin etc.

Since I’ve got the best friends ever they knew just what to get me and I would give these a pretty high rating as a birthday gift because they just gave me this little rush inside when I unwrapped them on my birthday.

First off is the Bilou Cotton Candy Body Lotion. Let me just start off by saying that this smells INCREDIBLE. It smells as an exact likeness to real cotton candy (candy floss) and it feels so good on skin because it comes out as foam, you should definitely try this out if Bilou is available in your country. My friend lives in Switzerland and Bilou is a German brand so it was quite easy for her to get.

The next thing is also from Bilou but this one is a body spray and it’s scented with a Tasty Donut. This one is also soooo good and I seriously love all of the Bilou scents (she even gave me one scented like Fizzy Berry sometime ago). I honestly feel like eating both of these things so I highly recommend these as presents for anyone.

Now with the nail stuff… The first thing is the Essence ‘The Gel’ nail polish in this really nice blue. It looks so amazing because it is kind of like a blueish, purplish galaxy kind of colour, plus it’s metallic and shimmery. I mean, how many bonuses is that! It looks even more mesmerizing with the other nail polish that my friend gave me. The Essence (yes, again) Glamaxy Top Coat has these tiny little flakes of holographic foil and they slightly change the whole look of the nail polish because it looks super cool. Last but not least, is the Essence (it’s a really good brand you know) Metal Shock Powder and I haven’t really tried it out yet but it is supposed to have this mirror effect when you put it on your nails. You can check google and I’m sure you’ll understand what I mean, but I am really excited to try it out.

And now, the last thing out of all the beauty stuff is…. The Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette!!! This one was such a surprise because it’s so so so amazing (you should probably know that already).  Everyone knows that this is supposed to be peach scented and then you’re all like “Oh yeah it probably smells pretty good”, but you don’t know the real beauty of it until you smell it and you’re like: “Oh my gosh this is the most heavenly scent I have ever smelt and I could sniff it all day”. It smells like peach candy, yum! As for the colours, these are the most gorgeous peachy and gold colours EVER, and I definitely think these are worth it, but still very expensive.

Sorry about how messy these pictures are 😂

That’s the end of my ‘Beauty Day’ review thingamabob and I hope you enjoyed it, have a great peachy rest of the day! 🍑
