It’s brutal out here

hey everyoneee!!

this is a very tiny post because my end of year exams start tomorrow and I’m very stressed 😭😭

I also have to go to school to take them which freaks me out because I haven’t physically been to school like at all, yeah. all my social skills (not that I had many to begin with if I’m being honest) are GONE and I can’t stand the thought of actually having to walk into my classroom for the first time this year knowing everyone else already has like met and stuff but I’m like the random girl there.

Can you tell I’m introverted and insecure?

ALSO GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO HAS THEIR EXAMS!!!!

We’re all gonna celebrate when they’re over (I definitely am, not sure how but in some way I have to)

so yeah I’ll see you guys next week when I finally (🙄) get around to doing the Q&A post that is like a month overdue already.

Oh well.

Love & luck,

Hreeemyyyyy

The Post-Exams Post

*credits to Milla for giving me this title*

Guess what, guys?!

My exams are over! Finitooooo (didn’t I say that in my exam post last year? I’m sure I did)

Anywaaays I’m super free now and I have more free time than I can handle because even the teachers have given up on teaching so we have no homework or anything. It’s actually quite boring tbh.

So now all I do is practice my guitar and learn new songs which is interesting until it gets to the point where I realise that all my favourite songs have super unknown chords like B minor or something like that. Some chords that literally aren’t humanly possible.

On the bright side I also have so much more time to have fun and hangout with my friends. Summer vacation starts in two weeks which is sooo exciting except for the fact that the weather in Dubai is already burning hot and it’s only going to get worse. I can’t wait to do some traveling too because I LOVE to travel!!

Have a great day 🙂

The Art of Procrastination

P.S. Sorry about the super-duper long wait; my computer crashed and I had to give it in to get it repaired so I couldn’t write! (if I write it from my iPad the format is terrible)

Raise your hand if you are a certified procrastinator

🙋🏼🙋🏼🙋🏼

Admit it, if you’re reading my blog you are probably only reading it to get away from something else you really don’t want to do. So, welcome to the Procrastinators Club! Collect your nametag at the front desk, thank you 🙂

Our end-of-year exams are coming in approximately two weeks (!!!) so I am kind of already drowning in all the revision and I probably shouldn’t be doing much writing because of that so consider this the last post you see until around June 14! I sound very excited but trust me I am NOT. I am dreading these exams, they were literally the worst things last year.

Anyways, because of this, our teachers were telling us about how to manage our studying time well and how to not procrastinate.

It’s only when you’re doing homework or revising that you realise you just have to do a Buzzfeed quiz to see if you can identify the celebrity by their foreheads (seriously why do they even have these kinds of quizzes?) I mean sure I would want my math homework to be done – in the past tense. I don’t actually want to do the homework.

Here are some top tips that have helped a master procrastinator like me:

  • study for 30 mins and then take a 10 min break in between. After you’ve studied for 30 mins twice, take a longer break that is about 15-20 minutes long. It’s a teeny bit confusing but it makes sense.
  • when you’re taking a break don’t do anything that gives you new information (such as checking the news, social media, watching tv shows) instead do something else like practice playing an instrument, do your nails, write in a journal.
  • do your work in a place where other people can see what you’re doing and can warn you when you’re going off task.
  • reward yourself for staying on task by getting something delicious to eat such as ice cream, or something healthy if you want to be healthy.

That’s not a lot but it’s all I have time for sorryyyyyy!

You’ll get much more interesting posts in the summer break so stay tuned for that ❤

May Wrap-Up

A bit late?

Definitely.

Sorry about me, I just scheduled this post and then didn’t wonder for a while why my “post” wasn’t getting any likes. Yep.

SO………….. May was definitely a very busy month; mostly because of my exams but hey, who’s counting?

This year was the first year that I had ‘End Of Year Exams’ and it was extremely stressful. But now I’m really excited for my results, as I’m sure you guys are too!

Also this month I had that sleepover and really fun mini photoshoot which pictures I have previously shared with you guys. I love love LOVE them so much.

*Hreem thinks for 10 mins and then realizes how boring this month has been*

Now we can just have a nice, friendly chat about life. I did watch two great movies last month though; Overboard and The Kissing Booth (I’m sure all you girls with Netflix would have watched this!), The Kissing Booth was such an amazing movie, and you should go watch it right now if you haven’t already.

Next thing……… I cut my hair!

I didn’t cut it in May but I just had to add that in because I’ve been growing my hair and keeping it long for aaaaaaaages and I finally had the guts to cut off a bit. That and the cruel summer heat of Dubai, and summer is only getting started ☀️ How’s that working out for you guys by the way?

Anywhoo, check out the roundup in pictures because I’m adding some 🙂

Exams Over! And How to Survive Them When They Return

IMG_3608

You heard it, no more exams! woohoo!

Obviously I have them next year, but for now, I’m done, finito! It’s like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders nd

So here are a few tips that really helped me:

Have a Schedule or Timetable

This helped me a lot and is great if you have many subjects that you can’t keep track of and also saves you time so you don’t have to worry about what to study next! I also gave myself little stars so by the end my calendar was covered by a constellation of stars ⭑

Reward Yourself

Whenever I finished a week’s worth of studying I treated myself to a little Pinkberry (yum!) or ice cream or something delicious just so there was something to look forward to.

Get Comfortable

You won’t learn anything if you don’t feel comfortable so go on, grab some cushions and scented candles; just make sure you don’t fall asleep…

Music

There are two options for this: listen to soft studying music (which distracts me) or you can do what I did and go on Ambient-Mixer and listen to some sounds like ‘Gryffindor common room’ (which I absolutely adore) and ‘rainy day’ and stuff just so it’s not too quiet 🙂

and finally…

DON’T STRESS

My science teacher is all about the meditation and peace so she always said “don’t get too stressed over work. If you can’t bear it, take a break, go to the park and take your dog for a walk. Stress just leads to more stress which is just unbearable.”

What studying tips helped you lately?
