The Magic of Everyday Life ✨

(This is one of the sunrises that I mention later in the post)

Helllooo guys

Please excuse my extremely long absence (I am quite ashamed don’t worry), I’ve just had tons of tests and assignments and events and the SAT so… yeah. It’s a lot.

Other than all the work though, this year has been pretty fun so far. I mean I’ve hung out with my friends significantly more than I did last year and I would consider that a big win.

ALSO Taylor Swift kicked off her Eras Tour a week ago and I have never been more jealous of anyone than I am of the people who get to go to the tour. From the videos I’ve seen so far, the outfits are gorgeous, the production is actually incredible (the visuals ohmy and the transition from Don’t Blame Me to Look What You Made Me Do is so … wow), the setlist is perfect (she missed a few icons but I’ll live) and yeah it’s just so amazing. I wanna go.

Anyways, let’s get to the topic of this blog post. I recently saw a post on Pinterest or something where the person was listing some small moments in their life that made them happy and called it “the magic of everyday life” and I thought that was super cute so here is me listing small things in my life at the moment that make me very happy:

  • Going to get ice cream on a random Tuesday (it feels more special when it’s not on the weekend)
  • Seeing a really pretty sunrise when I go for a morning run (on the rare occasion that I decide to go)
  • Listening to music while walking to school in the morning and feeling like the main character
  • Seeing this one specific stray cat who walks with me as I make my way back from school
  • When it’s a special day or something (like Valentine’s day) so me and my friends bring chocolate to school for each other
  • Wearing fancy perfume on a normal day (there’s just something about it)
  • Doing good on a test I thought I failed (spent a whole lesson holding back tears for what)
  • Studying for a bio test at Starbucks with my friend Yana
  • Having some hot chocolate (my favourite thing ever)
  • Finding a new song that I love so much I want to listen to it on repeat for days
  • Going out with my friends (or just hanging out with my friends in general)
  • Drinking peppermint tea with my mom every night before sleeping (doing that as we speak)
  • Eating peanut M&Ms
  • Wearing an outfit + doing my hair and maybe makeup and feeling very pretty

I actually thoroughly enjoyed writing that list, it made me romanticise my life a bit more instead of focusing on all the negatives (like the assignments I’m blissfully avoiding right now so I can write this blog post). So I recommend you do the same once in a while and do the things on your list more often (if they’re in your control of course, you can’t really force a pretty sunrise).

So, as always, talk to me in the comments!! Tell me some small things in your everyday life that make you happy. I think the concept is so cute and sweet so I’d love to read what you have to say too 🫶🏼

Song rec. of the post: Mess It Up by Gracie Abrams. I randomly remembered that this song exists like a few weeks ago and have been listening to it constantly since. I really love this song because the chorus feels so dramatic to listen to and sing along to. I also really love the bridge and how the two parts layer over each other at the end. All in all, it makes me feel like I’m in a movie so GO listen to it and let me know what you think 😚

The Happiness Chemicals + How to Hack Them

Image Link Someday I’ll put pics that are relevant to the post but that day is not today

hey bestiesss

I have one week left of school and honestly I don’t know how to feel about that 😫

like this school year barely happened and I’m not very excited about going into the next year but oh well there’s nothing I can do about that lol.

anyways I randomly got a burst of inspiration to research the “happiness chemicals” in our brains and what triggers their release and stuff so I did and now I want to share it with you guys because who doesn’t want to be a happier person??

Okay so for everyone who doesn’t know, there are four happiness hormones/chemicals created by our brain and they are dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins. These are basically the four things in your brain that are responsible for you feeling anything good.

Firstly we have dopamine, which is the chemical responsible for that kind of instant rewarding feeling you get when you complete a task. It’s the hormone that drives and creates motivation for a goal, one step at a time. Some things you can do to release dopamine are listen to music (woohoo), exercise, meditate, get enough sleep, do a hobby you enjoy or organise something (your room, cupboard, literally anything).

Next is the very lovely 💞oxytocin💞 which is also known as the love hormone because it’s the feeling behind – take a wild guess here please – love, friendship and trust. It’s the kind of warm and fuzzy feeling you get after cuddling your pet or being with your best friends (awwww). It is released after doing anything “loving” so like hugs, cuddles, giving presents, having honest and emotional conversations…all that fun stuff. Also if you have nobody else, warm showers are close enough.

Thirdly issss serotonin which stabilises your mood and basically your body’s wellbeing both in terms of health and mood. To increase serotonin you can spend more time outdoors, eat dark chocolate or exercise. I couldn’t find a lot of good information about serotonin but I think this covers the basics.

And finally endorphins which reduce pain and make you feel really good as a side effect. Some ways to release endorphins are to exercise (exercise is apparently good for like everything 😐🙄 but yeah maybe it’s a sign), eat dark chocolate, have fun with your friends or listen to/make music (looks like music is pretty good for health hehe, loving it).

That’s all for this posttt!!

I’m sorry if I sound really awkward I just completely forgot how to write blog posts where I have to put actual facts instead of just my very cool random thoughts and opinions. It’s clearly been a while.

Let me know if…you knew any of this before? Or literally just chat with me about anything. Like what are your plans for the summer? How do you feel about the weather where you are right now? What’s your favourite ice cream flavour??

Lots of loveeee,

Quotes I Like

hey guys, hope you’re all doing well!

Is this title kinda boring? I think so.

I got the idea for this from one of my friends but basically I am going to share with you some quotes that I found on pinterest that I really liked or I found unique or motivational or anything like that. I hope you like them too ❤

be excited

This is a really great post because you can literally choose what makes you happy! And it’s not only huge things that make you smile, it can literally be anything. I mean, just yesterday I found out one of my friends liked some songs I recommended to her and that made me feel really nice for some reason.Get excited! For everything!

pretty

This quote kind of ties into the whole concept of ‘beauty come from within’, and that’s because it’s true. I mean, if you have a very pretty face people will be like “oh yeah she/he looked really great” but you’re just attractive/appealing to their eyes. If you treat others with kindness and love you’re appealing to their heart.

react

To me I guess this kinda means don’t only do things for other people, do things for yourself and then if other people see it that’s just a bonus. Remember, you are not measured by how people react to you.

ruler

I don’t know how to explain this very well but I just get it. Basically, just because someone has achieved something by now which you haven’t, it doesn’t mean you have failed. Set goals and achieve things without comparing it to how or when other people have done it.

stranger

You have seen your face your whole life so you are used to it and it all looks just normal to you. And as humans, the thing we like the most tends to be our newest thing so naturally your face might not look amazing to you but to someone who’s never seen you before you could look very beautiful.

admire

This quote doesn’t just apply to looks, it applies to everything. Like, if you love to dance and you see someone who dances really great, that does not mean that you aren’t good.

fearless

I saved my favourite one for last!! Just because you have fears and doubts it does not mean that you aren’t fearless. Fearless is having lots of doubts and being really nervous but still jumping in spite of all of it. ♥️♥️♥️

Hope you enjoyed reading 😊

Be Happy & Make Others Happy!

hello everyone!

I hope everything is going great for you.

Today’s post is basically about being happy so PLEASE DON’T STOP READING. I think this is pretty important you can leave right after reading this but I do want you to read until the end.

Everyday you should do atleast one thing that makes you happy and talk to one person that makes you smile. For example play your favourite instrument or your favourite sport, use your brand new paints and paint something even though it may not end up looking perfect, wear the clothes that you usually save for special occassions or literally just put your favourite artist on shuffle and dance around your room. Do something everyday that is just for you and isn’t to please anybody else; you can be a little bit selfish for your own happiness. Then talk to your best friend, your parents, your sibling, your boyfriend/girlfriend or even your crush honestly. Anyone who makes you smile and laugh.

Secondly, forgive yourself for making mistakes. It isn’t possible for every single day to be perfect and every thing you do go well so don’t stress out over minor details! If you did bad-ish on a test, you spent your whole day just in bed, you said the wrong thing, you ate too much chocolate or you are just unable to do something for whatever reason. Tomorrow will be better and one or two little accidents are not the end of the world. Trust me, I know from experience.

*Kind of related, kind of not but still super important: Don’t let anyone, anyone, ANYONE make you feel bad about feeling. You have the right to get super excited about something even if it’s just something small. You have the right to be mad at somebody for breaking your trust or talking trash about you even if it wasn’t the worst insult ever. And if something hurt you enough to make you cry, you can cry as much as you want. Just because it didn’t upset them as much as it did to you it doesn’t mean that you are a “crybaby” or something.

The last thing I want you to remember is to make other people feel good about themselves too. That one day when you called somebody stupid or annoying, they could have been struggling with their own problems and just needed someone to be kind to them. Isn’t it so much more fun to make someone you like and care about laugh or smile and know that it’s because of something you did? Because I honestly think that’s one of the best feelings and it makes me happy too.I don’t know why you would get enjoyment out of making fun of someone or making them feel small. If you do feel that way, try making someone laugh or smile and I’m pretty sure it’s a much nicer feeling.

I know this was a pretty long post but I hope you liked it ❤

Positivity Reminder

Hey everyone!

Yeah I haven’t posted in ages but I just had to take a short break because my schedule has been pretty busy and overwhelming lately. I realised I say that almost every post and it’s probably really annoying so I’m going to work on that.

But I’ve got a bunch of posts written for me to post anytime, I just need some pictures to go with the post. It’s getting kinda difficult now because the weather in Dubai has been craazzzy. One minute it’s nice, then it’s cloudy, then it drizzles, then it pours down and then it’s sunny again. Like whaaat?

Okay but this post is just mostly a reminder to be happy and positive and get a break once in a while. WE WERE ON A BREAK! Sorry, just had to add that in there😊 Recently (well, not so recently) I uploaded a post and in school my friend Yana (check out her blog) said: “I know it’s kinda weird to say this but I really look forward to your posts, I mean, they’re really interesting.” And that actually made my week because I couldn’t stop thinking about it! Then later my friend Noelle said that I post really interesting and original stuff and I’m like ♥♥♥♥

Anyways, I just wanted to add that because well, it feels good to know that someone out there really likes what I write. Even if it was only one person. BTW Yana wa the one who isnpired this post so go go go give her blog a follow <<here>>

Compliment the next person you meet
