I was going to name this post ‘august slipped away into a moment in time’ until I realised this is basically a recap of my trip, not the entirety of the month. The prize for the most unique August recap title would not go to me 😋 or even many other August recap posts I’ve seen, to be honest. But it’s okay, we’re just enjoying folklore and we do get points for that. (speaking of Taylor, who else can’t wait for Midnightttsss!!!!). Then there’s also Louis’ new album coming, ugh fall is gonna be so good.

Anyways so summer is somehow over already and I’m now in in YEAR 12 (grade 11, junior year, whatever you call it) and I’m really not excited for all the work we have this year, but I am excited to hopefully hang out with my friends much much more than I did last year.

August was a pretty fun month and this was the best summer I’ve had since 2019 (because I got to actually leave the house and do things this time 😭). I hung out with my cousins a lot, bought a bunch of clothes, attempted to journal more and went to India!! Feels like it’s been forever and I really loved the trip, even though I got food poisoning like halfway through 😋 In India we went for a wedding which I was extremely excited for because, I mean, everyone knows that Indian weddings are just iconic.

I’m gonna stop talking now because, if I’m being completely honest, I have no idea what else to say. The pictures are much more fun to look at so I hope you like them 😌

Not sure if you guys have noticed yet but I very much love random little photo dumps; I have nowhere else for my photos to go soo yep.

Song recommendation of the post: Villain by Maisie Peters. Guys. If you haven’t heard any of Maisie’s songs before, I really need you to go listen now. I only started listening to her at the beginning of summer but one by one I became obsessed with every song off her album (‘You Signed Up For This’) because her melodies and concepts are so perfect and her lyrics are just so well-written and super witty. Ugh I could go on about this for days and I genuinely mean it. So go listen. and then tell me what you think. Now.

My Picnic Guide 💐

hellooo guyss what’s up?

Earlier this month my friends and I went on a little picnic and honestly it was extremely fun, 10/10 recommend it.

Since it is quite nice picnic weather at the moment (at least in the evenings) I decided to write a mini picnic guide with dos and don’ts that we learnt from our experience. Some of the tips are a tiny bit obvious but in our defence, we didn’t really think it through 😌.

Anyways yes follow our tried and tested guide to a nice picnic with contributions from Simmy, Netra and Misha:

  • Bring lemonade and pizza
  • Don’t forget your plates, cutley and hand sanitizer (we learned this the hard way)
  • It’s better to get a little too much food than a little too less
  • Don’t sit on a slope (hurts your butt and back😭😭)
  • Get tissues with you
  • Music and Bluetooth speakerssss + a playlist made in advance so you don’t have to keep picking the next song
  • Maybe don’t have your picnic in a place where dog walkers all meet up and leave their dogs off leash so dogs don’t try to eat your donuts
  • Bring trash bag for the trash and gloves so you dont have to touch the trash cause coakroaches 🤢🤢 (Simmy’s contribution and YEAH WE REALISED THAT AT THE END TINY COCKROACHES CAME ON OUR MAT)
  • Pack blankets because it gets a little cold
  • Don’t wear socks if you’re in a grassy area and plan to take off your shoes

so yep those were the main points of wisdom that I had to share.

Afterwards when it got dark we lay down (that sounds like incorrect English but apparently it’s right) on the grass and looked at the stars which was so cute. I didn’t expect to see any stars but it was very pretty I loved it. So I recommend doing a little stargazing on your picnic as well ☺️

Random Photo Dump

hey guys it’s meeeee

This is going to be a very chill and random post because I don’t have any other ideas and because I think everyone needs a cute catching up post every once in a while.

First of all (as you probably already know) I hit 200 followers which I once again want to say a big thank you to you guys for because it is just so awesome.

Things are pretty much the same lately (where I am) and the weather is getting SO HOT again which sucks but what can you do. There’s a lot of ice cream and it’s mango season so I’ll be okay until at least June or July. As if the heat wasn’t enough, we’ve been having sand storms for the past 2 days so that means leaves and sand everywhere ugh.

It is Ramadan right now though so school is shorter and I am so grateful for that because I get to sleep more 😭 I don’t know how I’m gonna handle it when the hours return to normal though because each lesson is going to feel like two hours each lol.

Hope you’re all safe and happy and physically distancing as much as you can!!

I can’t believe we’re already halfway through July, this happened waayyyyy too fast and I just don’t approve of it, I really don’t.

Anywayss, this post is kinda like a conpetition between two of my friends, Maia and Simran (you might know them from my wrap-up post 🙂 to see who knows me better. I chose them two because I feel like they know me basically the same amount so neither of them really have much of an advantage.

We did all of this on a video call #justquarantinetings and it was actually a lot of fun so I hope you enjoy reading this too!

 What are 3 items I always carry with me?

Maia: phone, hair tie, lip balm
Simmy: lip balm, phone, earphones, mask (lol an extra point for mask cause I didn’t think of it)
My answer: phone, lip balm, hair tie, earphones

What toppings do I have on my pizza?

(they really struggled with this for some reason which I found hilarious)
Maia: olives, mushrooms, peppers, onions
Simmy: olives, capsicums, mushrooms, onions
My answer: olives, mushrooms, capsicums, onions and TOMATOES. They literally couldn’t get tomatoes even after I gave them hints and after Maia went through everything in her fridge she still didn’t get tomatoes. Maybe I’m just the weird one for having tomatoes on pizza.

What’s my dream job?

Maia: a popstar
Simmy: a singer
My answer: a singer. They know me so well *wipes tear*

If the whole world was listening to me at one go what would I say?

Maia: “Follow my blog and insta, get me Taylor Swift’s number, #swiftiesforlife and I love you Taylor.”
Simmy: “Taylor Swift You Belong With Me.”
I choose: Maia. They really exaggerated how much I like Taylor, I seem like I would probably stalk her but trust me I’m normal(-ish).

What are my favourite scents and/or a perfume that I like?

Maia: warm vanilla sugar, peppermint swirl, frosted coconut snowball, lavender, rose.
Simmy: warm & cozy, a thousand years, lavender, orchid, mint.
My answer: vanilla, lemon, lavender, all the perfumes were right except for a thousand years, I’ve literally never worn that.

What are my top 3 ice cream flavours?

Maia: cookies & cream, strawberry, brownies.
Simmy: love potion, rainbow sherbet, mango.
My answer: love potion, mint chocolate chip and rainbow sherbet. I guess Simmy would know this more because I’ve never really gone to have ice cream with Maia.

What is my biggest fear?

Maia: being alone
Simmy: being alone
My Answer: being alone. So yeah they clearly already know that and I love how they both answered it in the exact same way lol that really made me laugh for some reason.

If I could only listen to 3 Taylor Swift albums for the rest of my life what would they be?

(I was honestly hoping for one of them to say “hahah that’s a trick question you can’t just choose three” but unfortunately that didn’t happen. *wipes another tear. out of sadness this time* So I had to overcome my indecisiveness and pick 3 because I know (correction, HOPE) a situation will never arise where I’m only left with 3 of her albums. Ok let’s move on)
Maia: Lover, 1989, Speak Now
Simmy: Lover, reputation, Fearless
My Answer: IT WAS SO HARD FOR ME TO PICKKKKK. but in the end I went with Lover, reputation and Fearless because they have the most different sounds. *I’m so sorry Speak Now, 1989, Red and Debut, I really feel bad*.

If I’m on Netflix right now, what show am I watching?

Maia: Fuller House, Friends and Gilmore Girls.
Simmy: Friends, Jane the Virgin and Fuller House.
My Answer: Friends, Jane the Virgin and Brooklyn Nine Nineeeee. Can’t believe they forgot that. Also idk why Maia said Gilmore Girls, I literally stopped watching that like 2 years ago lol.

Maia: Rackets, Simmy is irrelevant, ook.
Simmy: all of them, they’re all too funny (couldn’t she have said something along those lines for the albums???) ok fine rackets.
My Answer: It was hard to pick but I went with rackets, ook and knocked up (don’t even ask).

So the winner of this was …. drumroll please …. Simmmyyyy with 20 points. Maia had 19 points which wasn’t that far behind so I’m quite proud of both of them.

Never Have I Ever

hey everybody!

Before I start this post I first want to make sure that everyone knows about the Black Lives Matter movement.

I didn’t talk about this in my last post because I wanted to first make sure I have all the correct information just so I don’t say something that isn’t right. But if you haven’t already, please please please sign any petitions or go to protests (safely and peacefully and if you’re old enough) or donate to places. Do whatever you can. It makes no sense that we have to fight for people to not be treated different just because of the colour of their skin. If you know anybody who doesn’t agree just talk to them about it and hopefully it will help change their point of view. I would link the petitions if I could but certain ones are blocked where I live. I’m sure if you search them up they will be there. help make a change.

So, this post is me doing never have I ever, which you probably figured by the title. I know these questions are probably extremely boring but it’s almost impossible to find any questions on the internet that aren’t…weird. I tried to pick ones that I have a bit of a story for so please enjoy haha.

Gotten Stitches

I have never gotten stitches (thankfully) But when I was a baby I tripped somewhere and cut my head right between my eyebrows. When I say right in the middle I mean there is literally equal amount of space on both sides which is pretty strange?? Anyways, the doctor said that I should probably get stitches but we ended up not doing it cause that means it would leave a scar. It left a scar anyways but I got away without stitches lol. I’m pretty sure you can even see it in the pictures in my last post. *cue stitches by shawn mendes*

Gotten Detention

Technically I have got detention (ooh what a rebel) but technically I also didn’t (jk I’m a goody-two-shoes). Basically the teacher gave half the class detention for not doing what she said for homework but I half did and half didn’t, I can’t explain the whole story, and somehow got away with not going.

Had a Dangerous Experience

I have had a dangerous experience. I tell this story to everyone because it’s one of the only interesting things in my life lol. So one day it was raining a lot and there was thunder and wind and everything. My mom was helping somebody with something and like a really smart person decided to go like dance around this tree that was nearby. Not in a weird ritual way just a fun “yay i’m dancing in the rain” way. I heard this weird noise so I ran away and the tree fell right where I was standing. It was truly a traumatizing experience.

Broken a Bone

I have broken a bone not once, but twice. The first time was when I was about 6 or 7 and I tripped and hit my wrist on a slide and then again I broke my wrist in the exact same place, same bone and same part, while I was biking to school. Ooh this is another dangerous (-ish) experience story, how fun. I was biking to school and the traffic light was red for cars so clearly I was allowed to cross, but one AMAZING (note the sarcasm please) dude felt like it wasn’t important and came speeding towards me and I thought he was gonna hit me. (spoiler alert: he didn’t. I’m all in one piece and all good. Healed from that incident too) So I braked really hard and somehow did something to my wrist which fractured it and then proceeded to let go of the bike from the pain which meant I hit my wrist on the handle which made it worse and there was definitely MUCH MORE PAIN. Oh ya, also, the dude drove away. *shameless*

Met a Celebrity

I havee??? ish??? I took a picture with Bebe Rexha at a concert but I didn’t get to tell her a thing. And then me and my friends once thought we were meeting Camila Cabello because of this random guy who started talking to my friend and we all freaked out but it turns out he was talking about these radio people, not Camila Cabello. It was probably one of the biggest betrayals of my life.

Annnywaaayyy.  This post ended up being a little longer than I thought but I hope you enjoyed these random stories.

The Post-Exams Post

Guess what, guys?!

My exams are over! Finitooooo (didn’t I say that in my exam post last year? I’m sure I did)

Anywaaays I’m super free now and I have more free time than I can handle because even the teachers have given up on teaching so we have no homework or anything. It’s actually quite boring tbh.

So now all I do is practice my guitar and learn new songs which is interesting until it gets to the point where I realise that all my favourite songs have super unknown chords like B minor or something like that. Some chords that literally aren’t humanly possible.

On the bright side I also have so much more time to have fun and hangout with my friends. Summer vacation starts in two weeks which is sooo exciting except for the fact that the weather in Dubai is already burning hot and it’s only going to get worse. I can’t wait to do some traveling too because I LOVE to travel!!

Finding My Style

hey everybody :)

First of all I would like to announce: I HIT 100 FOLLOWERSSSS !!! (106 to be exact but yeah) And I know that there are so many bloggers out there with thousands of followers who gain like 100 more every day. But it is still a big deal for me because it’s pretty wild to believe that there are 100 people out there who like to read the random things I write.

Anyway, so this post is a fashion post *fun*. Lately I’ve actually started to care more about what I wear instead of just throwing on the first thing I find in my closet. When I look at my clothes half the things are literally unwearable and I’m like idontwannawearthis. 

So I’ve been finding stores and colour schemes and designs that I’m really starting to like that kind of fit my personality???? My favourite ever shop is Hollister but oof it’s expensive. You have to be really really sure you like something because if you don’t, you’ve wasted about $70 on it, happy times.

I’m starting to find more inspiration on what I want my look to be like. You know how you look at people’s Instagram feed and when you look at all the things they wear, the outfits are kinda related. Know what I mean? So I’m searching Pinterest and tv shows to see what I would want my theme – if you will – to be like.

Another thing is that it is now summer! I’m only excited that there’ll be no school and I get to travel, not excited about the weather. In Dubai it’s like “Oh summer’s coming up, time to see which stores stock refridgerators big enough to cool one or two PEOPLE.” The weather gets up to like 50°C so wearing jeans or something means taking a big risk. Because of that I have to buy new shorts and tops that aren’t full-sleeeved.

Clothes Pieces I Want in my Wardrobe

I’m kinda aargh right now because my school started on Sunday, part of the squad?

But enough of that (I’m sure I’ve said that in every post) let me just talk about what you came here to see; some clothing pieces that I really wish I had. This is I think the first time I’ve ever done a fashion-y post so let’s get to it.

Firstly, I just want a BASIC. DENIM. SKIRT. I can honestly say I’ve only owned one denim skirt to this day. But I always drool over them when I see them around; I’ve got serious issues…

Also, I want one of that kind of open-knit sweater thingies without the pattern on it for fall and winter. I never bought it because it wouldn’t be available in Dubai since the weather is hothotHOT. Every day I cycle to and from school (fit girl right here) and it’s a very dumb decision because when I’m returning home my bike feels like it’s been inside a microwave and the weather makes me feel like I’m in the microwave along with it. Okay, storytime over.

And finalllllyyyyyyyy….. an overalls dress. I’m sorry I have no idea what these are called but they’re like overalls and instead of shorts it’s a skirt; get what I mean? They’re just super cute and the perfect go-to outfit when you’re too lazy to pick one (join the club 🙋🏼).

Just adding this in since it kind of matches with the post: honestly my favourite style inspo is Rachel from ‘Friends’ because her outfits look so well put together and casual at the same time. TBH all the three Friends girls have such cute, individual styles from the 90’s and I’m in looove!

Happiness = Ice Cream

It’s no surprise for my Instagram followers that I am in London (yes, again).

But for those who don’t know…

I’M IN LONDON !

This is the third time I’m visiting but it always has this nice charm because all parts are completely different. We also found a few cute nooks in the street which aren’t very popular but are still really amazing :).

One place we found was Dominique Ansel bakery while we were walking the streets and I was instantly attracted to it once I saw the cute floral decor outside. There was also a sign advertising What-a-Melon so we went in 🍉

The What-a-Melon is a slice of watermelon where some of the inside is chopped out and replaced with a watermelon sorbet and instead of seeds there are chocolate chips. The first bite I was like “uuuuh this isn’t really great….at all” but soon it started to taste like a mixed sorbet of watermelon and strawberry so it was really my kind of flavour! I do recommend this bakery in general but I also think that this Watermelon dessert is a tad bit (UK is rubbing off on me) overrated; still great for the ‘gram tho!
