My exams are over! Finitooooo (didn’t I say that in my exam post last year? I’m sure I did)
Anywaaays I’m super free now and I have more free time than I can handle because even the teachers have given up on teaching so we have no homework or anything. It’s actually quite boring tbh.
So now all I do is practice my guitar and learn new songs which is interesting until it gets to the point where I realise that all my favourite songs have super unknown chords like B minor or something like that. Some chords that literally aren’t humanly possible.
On the bright side I also have so much more time to have fun and hangout with my friends. Summer vacation starts in two weeks which is sooo exciting except for the fact that the weather in Dubai is already burning hot and it’s only going to get worse. I can’t wait to do some traveling too because I LOVE to travel!!
This is one of the most cliche posts and is long overdue.
Buuut, in my defence, some people gave me my gifts this week because they didn’t deliver or for other personal reasons. JUST SAYING: I didn’t write this post to brag or show off, I just enjoy reading other people’s posts/watching videos about this as it gives me some great gift ideas! Also, it’s just really fun.
Here are a few things I picked out! (I gave everyone credit because I knew they would ask for it)
Porcelain Rose beats from my mom (which are sooooo goooood)
A little set of baby blue makeup brushes from Sakshi that are super soft
A Cropped ‘Friends’ hoodie from Milla (!!!)
A black and white striped romper from Maya & Mia that I really love ♥
Bright and pastel Tombow brush pens from my little brother
A loveeely Pandora gift card from my aunt
A cute little Superman Phoebe Funko (also from ‘Friends’) from Yana
The cutest little denim top which me and Yana bought together
A few little goodies from Icing from another one of my aunts
A Wreck This Journal from my cousin
and a few more little things that I don’t want to bore you with
Another thanks to everyone that wished me and gave me these gifts because I had an amazing 13th birthday!
Sorry about me, I just scheduled this post and then didn’t wonder for a while why my “post” wasn’t getting any likes. Yep.
SO………….. May was definitely a very busy month; mostly because of my exams but hey, who’s counting?
This year was the first year that I had ‘End Of Year Exams’ and it was extremely stressful. But now I’m really excited for my results, as I’m sure you guys are too!
Also this month I had that sleepover and really fun mini photoshoot which pictures I have previously shared with you guys. I love love LOVE them so much.
*Hreem thinks for 10 mins and then realizes how boring this month has been*
Now we can just have a nice, friendly chat about life. I did watch two great movies last month though; Overboard and The Kissing Booth (I’m sure all you girls with Netflix would have watched this!), The Kissing Booth was such an amazing movie, and you should go watch it right now if you haven’t already.
Next thing……… I cut my hair!
I didn’t cut it in May but I just had to add that in because I’ve been growing my hair and keeping it long for aaaaaaaages and I finally had the guts to cut off a bit. That and the cruel summer heat of Dubai, and summer is only getting started ☀️ How’s that working out for you guys by the way?
Anywhoo, check out the roundup in pictures because I’m adding some 🙂
I know, I know, I haven’t posted in ages. But I had already warned you that my exams are coming up at the end of the month and most of the times I won’t have time to write a blog post 😦
Anyways, this weekend my friends Mia and Yana came over for a sleepover and we had tons of fun so this is just a little summary!
So, the first thing we did after they came home and ate lunch, is going on Pinterest and finding some cool photo ideas for a mini photoshoot kind of thing. There were some awesome ideas like rainbow, glitter and sparklers and stuff. After that, we took some gorgeous pictures with some flowers and neon lights and I must say it was really was amusing!
Soon we watched some Friends while transferring and editing the photos we took, which btw, were AMAZING. For dinner, we ate some mouth-watering, homemade pizza and peri-peri fries and then watched ‘Flushed Away’. Not my choice of movie 😂
And then my friends and I were chatting and playing games until about 3 am when we finally decided it was time to sleep. It was really fun! Here are some of the pictures we took (these are only mine):
I know I’m posting a lot less now but I’m starting to get a lot of homework and revision for the upcoming exams. So, unfortunately, you won’t get very frequent content for a while 😦
Anyway, here are a few things I dislike that some people do on their blog posts. I am in NO WAY trying to say that my blog is completely flawless, I am just expressing my opinion. If you might get offended then I recommend that you do not read this post.
Formatting on a Phone
Some people write or design their posts on a phone, which might be handy but not the best idea in terms of presentation. Maybe not everyone owns their own laptop or computer but they definitely have access to one, so it’s better to use a laptop/computer if you don’t want the presentation of your post to be all over the place.
Grammatical or Spelling Mistakes
This might be a teensy bit hypocritical, but whenever I’m reading a post and I find a random spelling or grammar mistake and I cringe sooooo bad. I didn’t want that for my posts so I got Grammarly, which I definitely recommend to people who often type a word wrong or structure a sentence wrong.
Bad Quality Pictures
I don’t know about anyone else but the picture quality is one of the main things I look at before following a blog because sometimes one picture can really represent your efforts. It’s really annoying when the picture is kind of grainy, not in focus, taken in the dark, taken with very bright light etc. etc. I know that my pictures aren’t that amazing either but I know I’m much better than when I started off.
Not Very Interactive
I love it when bloggers start off their blog posts like “Hey!” or “What’s Up!” or things like that at the beginning of the post and they go ” how’s your day going?” and other questions because it’s like they actually care. And then they put questions at the bottom and reply to every single comment. It annoys me when people don’t actually take the time to talk directly to their reader rather than an audience of people. I understand if they don’t have time to respond to all of the comments, but they could at least reply to a few.
Well, not so much evening for me but it is the evening for a lot of people around the world so…
ANYwhoo, I am extrEMEly sorry for not posting in over a week. I mean, who does that? But now it’s spring break ( hooray! ) so I will be able to post normally again. Also, I was a little bit jetlagged and sick after coming back from Switzerland so I’m not quite sure you’d actually want to read the posts at that time…
So, here’s a little post of stuff you should do in Dubai if you ever come. BTW, if you do then you should definitely tell me because I can give you more advice 🙂
Visit the Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is obviously very iconic because it is ginormous, so you should visit it because the view from the top is great. But I don’t really advise this for people who are scared of heights because man is it tall!
Visit a Shopping Mall
I don’t know if you know but Dubai is full to the brim with great big shopping malls where you drop while you’re still halfway through your shopping list! (shop till you drop) In my opinion, the best malls to go to are: Mall Of the Emirates (MOE) or The Dubai Mall. Dubai mall is bigger but MOE has a few things that Dubai mall doesn’t so it’s just to get even.
Go to the Beach
UAE is a very sunny place so you should probably take advantage of the extra degrees by just dropping by at the beach because a) who doesn’t love the beach, and b) there is some delicious food and nice shops there too. So why not?!
Now here are a few things with shorter captions-
Visit a theme park: The weather’s perfect, you’ve got the chance, honestly why not? Go to Ski Dubai: Come on, indoor skiing, that’s pretty self-explanatory. Dubai Aquarium: You can almost go inside the aquarium, how cool is that?!
The most important thing is probably to go on a bus tour because you’ll get more of your sight-seeing desire fulfilled too!
Today I’m going to be rounding up February in things I did and liked and random stuff like that. Please comment if you liked this and whether I should do it again/what I should add. Here We Go!
Something I’ve Been Enjoying
Lately, I’ve been really enjoying writing in my journal because it’s very calming. It’s also a great way to let some thoughts escape. If you don’t already write in a journal then I suggest you try it out for at least a few days, write in great detail though, or else you won’t get anything out of it.
These are the songs I listened to the most. They aren’t all new but I’ve been enjoying them anyway! I’ve listed them in order of how much I like them:
Gorgeous by Taylor Swift
Complicated by Avril Lavigne
Hit The Lights by Selena Gomez
Since February started I received 7 more followers which is awesome and I now have 20 followers, including an email follower 🙂 In February I also reached 200 likes on my blog. Thank you guys so much for making February a great month for my blog stats!
I know, I know, it’s still winter, don’t worry about me…yet.
Firstly can we celebrate the fact that I am now chiclifethrumylens.com! No .wordpress.com. This may not be the coolest thing for you but it’s awesome for me so pls don’t burst my bubble.
Anywhoo, this is a recipe for you guys who plan your drinks early (i.e. me); if you don’t do it yet, I think you should probably start creating your summer drinks list. So here I’ve started you off with a Strawberry lemonade smoothie which is soooo refreshing!
Makes: 1|Time to Make: 7 mins|Difficulty: Super easy
What you’ll need to make this amazing drink:
½ a tiny lemon (trust me, they’re very sour)
Around 3⁄4 cup milk
A few spoons of sugar
These measurements are not exact because they are for you to play around with and find the perfect taste for yourself!
How to make it:
Cut your strawberries into halves and put them into a blender.
Squeeze out the juice of your lemon half and add that to the blender as well, then blend.
Now add your milk and sugar in the blender and blend it once again.
Taste your smoothie and see what else you need to add to make a taste you like.
