I had/have a bunch of tests and assignments at the moment so I don’t have the time to come up with and write a good post. And that sucks.
Sooo I decided to make this post just a cute positivity post because I think everyone could always use a little, you know? (I also just realised I did one like this last feb haha)
Yep so here are a bunch of quotes that I found on pinterest and really liked. I’m also adding a short playlist kinda thing at the end with a bunch of soft songs (I don’t know how else to describe them lol) or like songs that I consider just like cute and gentle and … soft? I was actually debating between really upbeat and happy songs or these slow-ish ones but I feel like the vibe at the moment doesn’t really match the upbeat songs.
Okay enough of that, here is the positivity I promised (sorry the quality of some of the pics is a little trashy) :
Aaaand that’s all the ones I really liked.
Obviously there are a lot more but I don’t want to bore you with like a billion quotes so I stuck to just a few. Along with that I made this:
Hreem’s Soft Playlist™ (you know I had to add the TM)
Butterflies – Kacey Musgraves
Call It What You Want – Taylor Swift
come out and play – Billie Eilish
Finally // beautiful stranger – Halsey
gold rush – Taylor Swift
I Want To Write You a Song – One Direction
Left Side – Eloise
my future – Billie Eilish
Sorry that’s it heh. I honestly thought I had more songs but *apparently not*.
I hope you listen to the songs cause I love them and if you do please recommend some more to add because…why not?
And that’s the post!
Talk to me in the comments about literally anything you want, I’d love to read what you have to say! 💖 Incase you don’t know what to say, I want to know what your favourite book/movie is and why ☺️
Lotssss of loveee and take care of yourselves, Hreem xx
I’m so sorry I didn’t post in over a month but school started and stuff so I got busy and then I was so sure that I posted something but then checked back to realise that I didn’t so that really was disappointing.
Anywayyyss, about a month ago the super amazing Jasmin kinda tagged me to do the ‘my favourite things tag’ and it’s pretty cool so I’m excited ☺️

Have fun!!!
*disclaimer: most of these pictures do not belong to me*
1. Music
I think by now basically everyone knows that I love music with my whole heartttt 💖 . Listening to music, playing it, making it, all of it is just so magical ahh. It is one of the most amazing things ever and you can go ahead and fight me on that heh.
2. Friends and Family
Hanging out and talking to family and friends is so much fun too. The best thing is when you all laugh so hard that you can’t breathe or talk and anything anyone does just makes it more funny. Even when we started online school, me and my friends have zoomed many times and literally even watched a movie together on video call. It took ages to set up but it was fun anyways sooo.
3. Autumn
It’s nearly autumnnnnn ahhhhhh. Apparently autumn *officially* starts on September 22 this year so that’s on Tuesday yay. It’s in my opinion the best season because it’s so cosy and not too hot but not too cold. I’m probably going to write a whole post about autumn soon so be ready for that.
4. Pretty Things
This is the weirdest thing on my list because it really makes no sense. I just love like pretty necklaces, places, people, dresses??? You deserve a round of applause if you understand me because I made no effort to explain it.
5. Taking Photos
I always take a bunch of pictures and videos when I’m with my friends or family and then they’re like “Hreem stop taking so many pictures”. But then the same people beg me to send all the stuff to them a couple months later. Really love that. I also have a really cool polaroid camera (not the instax ones, the polaroid originals ones that are bigger and look kinda similar to the old cameras) and it’s such a rush taking one of those and then waiting for it to develop. It’s just been lying around for the past 6 months because of the lack of cool things happening 😦
6. Baking & Cooking
Me and my mom always bake stuff like cupcakes and cookies and stuff which do turn out weird sometimes but majority of the time they’re so goood. I also like to cook and help my mom make stuff but I’m not as skilled at it so I do it a bit less. Basically anything involving food is perfect.
7. Flowers
Flowers are so pretttyyyy. So I guess this should technically count as pretty things but I wanted to make a different point for it because like … flowers dude. We don’t actually have a wide range of flowers growing wehre I live because it’s way too hot so I have to settle for pictures of flowers instead. It’s ok, pinterest is close enough.
and finally…
8. Reading & Writing
readingonastar.wordpress.com
I’ve always loved reading stuff like books and poems but right now I don’t really have any new books to read which sucks. Comment any suggestions if you have! I also love writing things like my journal and (you’d never guess this) my blog! My three year blog-iversary is in like two months, wow.
So those are a few of my favourite things!
I hope you sang that to the tune of the song in your head. If not, what are you even doing? This was actually super fun so thank you Jasminnn!
I don’t think I can nominate 8 people to do this but I’ll see how many I can haha:
I hope you’re enjoying your summer (if you can lol). I can’t believe it’s already August!!
This year took forever but it also went by super fast and it’s really strange but I mean, has anything been normal this year?
Nope.
Sooo this post is about Taylor Swift’s new album that she announced on July 23rd (rip 1D’s anniversary) and released on July 24th, THAT FAST. I was so confused when I saw the post about it because she had just released her last album (Lover) less than a year ago so nobody saw this coming.
The album was written in the first 3 months of quarantine so you would expect the quality of work to be a little less but it is her best album to date. It’s not her best album in the conventional way of being full of radio engineered pop hits with catchy melodies and stuff, it’s more about the lyrics and the fact that the album is so well-written and a lyrical masterpiece. If you haven’t listened to the album you should do that right now (after reading my post heheh) because I love ittt.
My ranking of songs when I first heard them is so different to the ranking now, I can’t believe I put some of those songs that low at the beginning lol. Also it’s impossible to rank them because I love almost all of them equally but here is my attempt right now:
cardigan
betty
august
my tears ricochet
illicit affairs
exile
invisible string
the last great american dynasty
the 1
7
this is me trying
mad woman
peace
hoax
mirrorball
epiphany
This is such a soft and storylike album that you should listen to on a rainy night, with pretty candles, wrapped in a cardigan (heh) and while drinking tea?? maybe?? Something super cool she did is she wrote three songs about a teenage love triangle and each song is from the perspective of a different person, if you don’t listen to anything else at least listen to those three (cardigan, betty & august). It’s so interesting once you see the lyrical parrallels in those songs.
Anyways I hope you enjoyed reading this post even though it isn’t as interesting because I really love music and it’s fun to tell other people about music ☺️
Let me know what songs you’ve heard/liked from the album in the comments or just tell me about your favourite album from any artist, I love reading your comments! 💖💖
I hope you’re all happy and smiling and just feeling (at least) okay.
I know some really bad things have been and still are happening so hopefully everyone is safe.
I always love doing those monthly wrap up posts but there wasn’t enough stuff going on my life each month to actually write a post about. So I decided to do one for these past six months hahah. Honestly it was even hard for me to find the highlights of half the year so please appreciate it no matter how uneventful it may be.
The first exciting thing to happen this year was Taylor’s documentary ‘Miss Americana’ which I have already talked about in another post so I won’t be repeating myself, although I would love to. I can almost hear your sighs of relief and I must say I’m quite offended. But we got so much content this year which I am extremely happy about. For example the One World Together concert, City of Lover Concert and stuff. Let’s move on.
Before I talk about this can we first have a little flashback to the times where I edited every. single. photo with this very aRtSy paint brush thing. I actually kinda want to bring it back lol. Anyways, here is me and my friends going to the mall for no reason (before corona, obviously). Simran tried a frappuccino I recommended, Maia is dangerously obsessed with animal crackers and I just exist. You have no clue who they are but I’m sure you can figure out from context.
This picture is here just to show you that my very strange friend eats cheetos with chopsticks. I don’t even understand humans anymore, like???? Plus I still don’t know how to hold chopsticks properly so there’s a hint of jealousy there but this isn’t normal behaviour.
We had international day in school! It was literally so much fun and me and my friends ate so much. Plus we got to dress up so I’ll take any excuse for that. One or two days later our school was like wow having such a big gathering probably wasn’t a good idea. Also here is like the first pic I posted where you can see my teeth post-braces yayyy.
I just looked at the date of when this was taken and realised that at the time I had no idea that in four days I would have my last day of year 9 and I would proceed to not step foot out of my house for like 3 months. To be so innocent. Also they spelt my name wrong, obviously, but this is the closest they’ve ever got to spelling it right. I have a whole album on my phone of the different ways Starbucks has spelt my name. One example is Rem (???)
This is the okay-est photo that I had taken of the rain. It rained very much this year and I am so (pleasantly) surprised. I am in love with rain so the 4 or 5 times it rained this year were the highlights. *people living in England are like 😳* It even rained in May which means something strange is going on this year, as if we couldn’t tell already. I forgot to mention that there was also hail!!! Closest we’ve ever gotten to snow in Dubai.
I made eggless tiramisu!! I am now regretting not taking a better picture and realising just how terrible the quality of this picture is. Aside from that, the tiramisu was delicious *chef’s kiss*, this is the only recipe I can make by heart. If you want me to share the recipe please let me know because I’d love to ♥️
The last part of my post is one of my biggest achievements: In the last 6 months I have listened to 107 hours of music. Ikr, what do I even do with my life. A lot of things actually, I just do them while listening to music. These are the top 8 artists I listen to apparently and I’m super confused at most of the numbers here. I mean, I don’t remember listening to Halsey or Harry Styles this much. It’s ok though, it was still awesome.
If anyone has made it to the end of the post THANK YOU SO MUCHHHH ♥️♥️♥️
Tell me about your highlights in the comments or literally just chat with me it makes me very happy 🙂
Love, Hreem xx
(p.s. it would mean the world if you checked out my covers)
I haven’t met anyone outside my family for a while (I’m being dramatic, just like 10 days) but honestly I’m not complaining. I’m an introvert so I’m in my room its a typical Tuesday night I’m listening to the kinda music she doesn’t like… sorry I got carried away. Do I talk about Taylor Swift too much? yup. Do I care? not at all. *go stream You Belong With Me*
the social distancing at the beginning of this video is a great example of what you should do. What happens in the last 10 seconds of the video is exactly what you should not do.
Let me just get to the point before I think of 5 more song lyrics and a story from year 7 hehe.
So, since we are all at home and pretty bored I’m assuming, here is a bunch of fun or new stuff for you to try if you have no clue what to do. Check them out incase you find one of them interesting 🙂
Learn an Instrument
Before this whole thing happened I started learning to play the keyboard so now in this break I got to practice a lot more and learn some new songs which was really fun. If you think it’s hopeless and you are terrible at music, atleast give the ukulele a go.
Organise Your Room
You probably really don’t want to do this but just do it (not sponsored haha). Either clean out your room so you can see what you need and what you don’t, then organise everything or maybe even redecorate it a little bit? I don’t know, it’s your choice.
Skincare
Do a face mask, or a hair mask, or start some new skincare routine that you’ve attempted to start many times but only managed to stick to it for about three days. Since you have the time, why not?
Bake or Cook
Bake a cake or bread or some cookies or something, it’ll be really fun! If you usually use a cake mix or readymade cookie dough or something like that, try doing it from scratch this time. Plus, at the end you’ll have something to eat too so honestly it’s a win-win.
Do Some Art
Art is also pretty cool right? Do it! Painting, sketching, oil pastels… ran out of art stuff but do something really fun and artsy.
Read
Read a booook. Books are really interesting and I do not understand why so many people hate reading. Some people I know can’t remember the last book they read for fun. It hurts my heart.
Start a Blog or Youtube Channel
If you are reading this post you most likely already have a blog of your own and in that case, try posting more. But if you don’t have a blog I really think you should start one just about anything you like and want to talk about or something that you want to spread awareness about. Alternatively, if you don’t like writing or typing you might want to start a Youtube channel. If you decide to create either of these please leave your links in the comments and I’d love to visit them!
Obviously there is a bunch of other stuff that you can do that I haven’t listed and if you do think of something then please let me know because it might be helpful for me or someone else ❤
Stay safe and make sure to practice social distancing!!
P.S. Sorry about the super-duper long wait; my computer crashed and I had to give it in to get it repaired so I couldn’t write! (if I write it from my iPad the format is terrible)
Raise your hand if you are a certified procrastinator
🙋🏼🙋🏼🙋🏼
Admit it, if you’re reading my blog you are probably only reading it to get away from something else you really don’t want to do. So, welcome to the Procrastinators Club! Collect your nametag at the front desk, thank you 🙂
Our end-of-year exams are coming in approximately two weeks (!!!) so I am kind of already drowning in all the revision and I probably shouldn’t be doing much writing because of that so consider this the last post you see until around June 14! I sound very excited but trust me I am NOT. I am dreading these exams, they were literally the worst things last year.
Anyways, because of this, our teachers were telling us about how to manage our studying time well and how to not procrastinate.
It’s only when you’re doing homework or revising that you realise you just have to do a Buzzfeed quiz to see if you can identify the celebrity by their foreheads (seriously why do they even have these kinds of quizzes?) I mean sure I would want my math homework to be done – in the past tense. I don’t actually want to do the homework.
Here are some top tips that have helped a master procrastinator like me:
study for 30 mins and then take a 10 min break in between. After you’ve studied for 30 mins twice, take a longer break that is about 15-20 minutes long. It’s a teeny bit confusing but it makes sense.
when you’re taking a break don’t do anything that gives you new information (such as checking the news, social media, watching tv shows) instead do something else like practice playing an instrument, do your nails, write in a journal.
do your work in a place where other people can see what you’re doing and can warn you when you’re going off task.
reward yourself for staying on task by getting something delicious to eat such as ice cream, or something healthy if you want to be healthy.
That’s not a lot but it’s all I have time for sorryyyyyy!
You’ll get much more interesting posts in the summer break so stay tuned for that ❤
I haven’t done a recipe post in a while and I recently came across this one which is reaaallly fab so I thought why not share it with you guys?
I really love food and cooking and pasta (and I’m a vegetarian btw), so this recipe is perfect for amateur cooks like me who like to make food. Another thing, many people assume that if gnocchi doesn’t have egg it tastes extremely weird but some of my friends have tasted it and according to them it tastes the same. and you don’t mess with the experts.
Serves: 4 | Time to make: 30 mins | Difficulty: simple-dimple
What You’ll Need:
3 tablespoons flour
3 medium-sized potatoes
water
How To Make It:
Firstly, boil the potatoes (in boiling water, duh) until they are soft enough to mash and grate.
Then wait until they are a little less hot and peel off the skin.
Little by little, start adding in some flour and mix it until it is fully incorporated into the potatoes. Here’s the thing: I have no clue how much flour to add! This is becasue it depends on how soft you like your gnocchi. Basically, keep adding flour until it isn’t as sticky as before (but it will still be a bit sticky, don’t overdo the flour).
So then, sprinkle flour onto the counter where you will shape the gnocchi pieces. Take a chunk of dough and roll it into a long strand as thick as you’d like. Cut the strand into little pieces.
Put a pot of water on the stove and let it boil. When it starts to bubble, drop one or two pieces of the gnocchi as a test run. When the pieces float to the top you can remove them. Now taste to see if you need to add more of anything and then do the rest of the batch!
Finally, make the sauce of your choice (arabbiata, alfredo, pesto, whatever) and mix it in with the gnocchi. Then eat and enjoy!
P.S. If you have extra gnocchi left over just store it in the fridge 😉
Hope you try this recipe out; if you do, make sure to comment and tell me how it went!
So, usually whenever anything happens I think about writing a blog post about it #thestruggleofcomingupwithpostideas
That’s quite a lot hashtag, hope it doesn’t catch on.
Anyway, I usually don’t have much to say about whatever event happened and I don’t like writing super short blog posts so I just decide to forget about it. But I really want to share a few things that happened these past 2 months so get ready for some unseen pictures and short descriptions!
In Dubai, every year we have something called RedFest, which is a two-day show with singers like Demi Lovato and The Chainsmokers. This year on the day that I went there was Jax Jones, Macklemore and Camila Cabello! I went mostly for Camila because I love all of her songs 😉 Me and my friends had loads of fun dressing up and screaming at the top of our lungs.
We had international day in school and me and two of my friends were dancing so we had to look similar and yeah, this is what we looked like! I think I cut my hair like, one day before this so it looks really if I do say so myself ♥️
We also had spirit week in school at the beginning of March. My favourite days were Twin Tuesday (where you wear the same clothes as a friend) and Throwback Thursday (dressing up as the 70s, 80s and 90s). My friends and I dressed up as the Spice Girls and I was Baby Spice 😋 We were aware that double denim is a crime but IT LOOKED FINE.
I know I know I know I haven’t posted since LAST YEAR.
Sorry wait.
I haven’t posted sunce November because I needed to take a break as I wasn’t getting any inspiration at all and I didn’t want to write some boring old post that noone would enjoy reading. But lemme just say I’m baaaaack 🙂
Those of you who’ve been reading my blog for a while will remember (or not) that last year I wrote a post about my new year’s resolutions and how I was gonna stick to them. Needless to say, they were pretty much a fail. I wanted to: write a blog post every week (pretty much stuck to that one…kinda), do homework the same day or the day after I get it (only did that for the first two months), and take my dog for a walk twice a week. Now, that one was kinda just impossible because I underestimated the amount of homework I was gonna get.
For 2019 I decided that I didn’t want to make resolutions, I just wanted goals. Like things I could achieve by the end of the year. Things like:
learning the splits (I used to be able to do them but now I can’t)
stick with my bullet journal
do more exercise
eat less sugar
Looking back, a few of them are kinda like resolutions but WHATEVER.
I read the post and I thought 2018 would be better than 2017, ha, that didn’t happen. Honestly, 2018 really wasn’t the best year as a whole but there were some great parts. I got to do so much more traveling which was exciting, and had some great times with friends.
Did you stick to your resolutions from 2018? What are your goals for 2019?
